"savedata" Folder Not in Game Directory?
« on: February 04, 2010, 06:30:26 AM »
Today, I decided to download the "IDCheats" mod. It told me to put the files inside of the "savedata" folder in the Insaniquarium directory. However, when I look there, there is no "savedata" folder! But even when I play the game, I can still choose from my available saved games. I've tried to search various file names on my computer, such as "save", "dat" and "data". But nothing came up that had something to do with Insaniquarium. Help would very appreciated!

Normally, the user data folder is inside:
C:\Program Files\PopCap Games\Insaniquarium Deluxe\userdata
Have you try that?
However, I have never seen any mod that has anything to do with the userdata. What kind of mod, exactly? Never mind.

The problem seems to be caused by the following zombifying file: zombie.exe and/or killer.n

You are using a new version of windows, aren't you.
In Vista, the savedata and userdata are hidden so that you can't Cheat on it.

Well, I am using Vista, so that may be the case. Is there any way to make the folders reappear? Since reading your reply, I already tried to change the Folder Options to show Hidden Files and Folders, but the folders still aren't there.

Go to settings and hit "show hidden files folders" I think. That's how you do it in XP at least.

This is a headache, since I don't use Vista.
Just to make sure: Are you sure you're in the right directory?
Or are you logging in as the admin?

Yes, and yes. This is the only account on the computer, so it has to be the admin.

There may be more than one Program Files folder, especially if you're on 64-bit.

Just open up your C drive and look everywhere that your files might have wound up. :-|

Just out of wondering:
A) Does this work on Windows 7?
B) Does it work on PVZ?

Nevermind, I found the folder. It was in a hidden folder called Program Data. The file path is: C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\Insaniquarium\userdata (if anyone is experiencing the same problem as me).

Ha ha ha, like what Pikadude said: there may be more than 1 Program Files on your computer.

That directory's like mine, just the different between Program Files and ProgramData.
